ANTI-MAGNETIC ARCHETYPE #10
"I just need to finish (thing) then I'll get out there!"
Obsessed with discovering and creating fancy new solutions, systems, and automations, you regularly get sucked down rabbit holes trying to learn about the latest thing that's supposedly going to be a game-changer for your brand or business. Problem is, you get so busy tinkering you forget about the fundamentals or delay meaningful action—meaning you never actually benefit from your hard work.
...it's likely The PUZZLE-MAKER has a lot of "pull" right now, and is costing in more ways than you may realise.
IF You'RE:
Signs The PUZZLE-MAKER is running the show
MIRROR, MIRROR ON THE WALL
A life lived being busy creating problems that didn't necessarily need solving. Of missing out on the magic of simplicity. And of hiding behind your creations rather than allowing the world to see the most brilliant creation of all: your very being. But because it never feels enough, there'll always be something else that needs doing that tries to keep you from baring your soul to the world. Of being seen without the bells & whistles. And of being valued for who you are.
Always feeling busy, but never truly accomplished
THE COST TO YOUR BEING
While your creative and problem-solving mind may feel far more comfortable creating spreadsheets, designing fancy slide-decks or looking for more efficient ways track data, the trap you can fall into is forgetting that your role as a leader is to guide humans to operate at their own highest potential, and the tools you use are just that -- tools. Not the point, not even the strategy. In fact, they can keep you with your head buried in busy-work while being completely to obvious to the challenges of the people you're here to serve. Challenges that require your head AND your heart to be present in order to solve.
Losing sight of what really matters
THE COST TO YOUR LEADERSHIP
You're most at risk of getting so caught up in all the potential ways you could approach content creation and publication -- from endless AI tools and templates to scheduling softwares -- that you constantly in experimentation mode and never fully commit to the content strategy itself. So you may refine your workflow, but your message, your platform specific strategy and your unique style of communication stay under-developed which keeps you hidden from the people who could benefit from your creativity if it was poured into service.
Having an under-developed message (and voice!)
THE COST TO YOUR BRAND
Your business is most likely going to be the one that's all busy-work and very little service, because you keep finding more ways to supposedly "optimize" with the latest software or a genius new automation... but then losing days or even weeks to trying to troubleshoot when it doesn't work the way you want it to, or deciding you simply cannot launch that new offer without all the bells & whistles in place (completely with the 11 step onboarding automation, fancy client hub & searchable student directory!)
Stay busy building but rarely selling

THE PUZZLE-MAKER'S MAGNETIC POTENTIAL
The Puzzle-Maker's patterns are simply the unhealthy expression of the natural strengths you were born with. And once we become conscious of them, they can be transformed into a higher expression that puts an end to the "self-sabotage" (in quotations because this is actually just a form of self-protection) and becomes a part of your toolkit for success.
THE GIFTS HIDING IN THE SHADOW OF THE PUZZLE-MAKER
The Puzzle-Maker’s brilliance lies in invention, problem-solving, and seeing connections others miss. These are powerful strengths — but only when they’re directed with purpose. Left unchecked, they can create endless busywork, complexity, or distraction from the work that truly moves the needle. To access the gift, you need to connect to your North Star. Ask yourself: "What impact am I really trying to make?" This self-awareness allows you to see when you’re tinkering to avoid vulnerability or challenging action. The magic emerges when your creativity serves a clear goal — when your solutions, tools, and systems amplify your actual work instead of becoming an end in themselves.

We fall into the shadow when we're operating from fear and doubt, but it's just the other side of the coin to the strength, which we already have within us. The real magic though? It's in accessing the sacred gift, which we earn with time and through alchemising these shadow patterns.
The outward expression of all you are, this is what most think of as personal branding, as it's about how you choose to position and package yourself in the outside world, from what you wear to how your website is designed.
Harder to measure, but easy for others to sense, this is your energy, your vitality, that spark people feel when you walk into a room (or the dark cloud, depending on your mood). This energy gets poured into all of our interactions AND our creations, so it's essential to your magnetism.
How you're showing up in the world. The actions you're taking (or not) the habits you've adopted (whether they're helpful or not) and the way you express yourself. Our actions can change our reality including how we feel, so it's next in line.
Your belief systems and the stories you hold about everything -- from yourself and your own potential, to other people, to how the world works. Our thoughts manifest as reality, so until our beliefs align with our desires, we'll struggle.
Your literal foundations: who you are, how you were built, the state of your nervous system, and the way you naturally see and experience the world. If we don't understand these things or let them get out of whack, everything else falls apart!
FROM PUZZLE-MAKER TO INTENTIONAL INNOVATOR
Magnetism isn't some switch you flick on. It's created from 5 different sources that are all essential parts of you. And since one impacts the next, you can think of this as your "Magnetic Hierarchy of Needs". I'll quickly explain what they are before diving into tailored recommendations for each of these areas specific to The Puzzle-Maker.
To heal the pattern of The PUZZLE-MAKER and step into its highest expression as The INTENTIONAL INNOVATOR, we must work from the Inside Out.

Often hiding behind your desire to create fancy solutions is a fear of actually putting yourself out there in a vulnerable way and risking rejection or failure. So it's important to get clear on what currently feels like the safe zone for you, and what is activating your nervous system. Visualise all the tasks/projects you hypothetically need to do to achieve your goals this year, and as you run through each one, pay attention to the sensations in your body and take note of which activities felt most activating. Next time you find yourself avoiding that task in favour of another, take a breath and contemplate how you could progress with more intention.
Once we've identified the work that seems to trigger some fear in your, it's time to understand what stories are underneath it. So take some time to journal about your relationship to this activity. How do you feel about it? What insecurities does it bring up in you? What memories rise to the surface? Why did you choose this activity in the first place -- did someone else tell you to do it? The more you write, the more it'll become clear if this fear is justified or has been made up by your mind.
Sharing your work with the world is scary, so we'll often find ways to delay the inevitable by deciding there are a whole bunch of things we MUST have in place before we do. Whether it's a new brand or website, a fancy automation, a prettier onboarding form. But I challenge you to adopt a new approach called Minimum Viable Magnetism. What do your clients (or team/audience) need NOW for your work to start helping them -- and therefore start sharing feedback on what actually needs improving vs what's totally unnecessary?
What if all of that creative genius energy that's currently sabotaging your results was actually just being misdirected by focusing on busy-work rather than solving the problems that matter: the ones your clients/team/audience have? I want you to start a notebook (it can be digital!) of all the problems you keep spotting in the lives/business/etc of your ideal people. And at least once a week, sit down to pour yourself into solving it. Write, draw, build -- doesn't matter. But I want you to learn the feeling of undeniable satisfaction that comes from being of service. Nothing beats it!
You have brilliant, beautiful mind, but as long as you keep hiding, your audience will never get to witness it. So for the next 30 days, commit to giving people a glimpse of it. What is one thing you have available right now that could make their lives easier? An offering? A framework? Some encouragement? Whatever it is, make a plan of how you'll do something to share it daily (or at least 3 times a week). This is how your magnetism becomes unmistakable. Oh, and be sure to do something to celebrate yourself once the 30 days is up!
